Only 5.6% Of Adults Meet National Objectives For Physical Activity and Strength Training

The CDC also says that strength training helps adults improve their overall health and fitness as well as improving insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism.  In fact a national health objective for 2010 is to increase to 30% the proportion of adults who perform physical activities that maintain muscular strength and endurance two or more days per week 9   They say that most older adults, even those who are otherwise active, are missing opportunities to improve their overall health and fitness through regular strength training.  Only 5.6% of Americans meet national objectives for both physical activity and strength training.  The Younger Body Now program is designed to help you reach the national goal.

Types Of Dieters

Setting up a nutritional program for athletes was a bit different, especially for runners.  Cutting out the bad food was basically the same but runners need to consume more clean, complex, carbohydrates.  By that I mean brown rice instead of white rice, 7-grain or stone ground whole wheat bread instead of white bread, and no white sugar.  Of course this would eliminate a wide variety of foods because most processed foods contain sugar.  Still this leaves us with a wide variety of delicious foods to choose from that are healthy for us.  I will list the foods that I eat as part of my own fitness program, but before that I want to get into some of the mental outlook necessary for weight loss.

Focus On Weight Loss As A Recipe For Failure

First of all when potential clients come to see me I ask them what their goals are.  If they tell me they want to get fitter, healthier, stronger, and look better, I will take them on as a client since I know I can help them be successful.  If they say they want to lose weight as their main goal, I send them to someone else.  I believe people who just want to lose weight without looking at overall health and fitness are setting themselves up for failure.  Losing weight and being healthy go hand in hand.   Both require a life style change.  By that I mean getting on a daily exercise routine and changing your eating habits.  Getting healthier has to become part of our daily life and we gradually have to change the way we think.

Weight Loss Success – And Failure

What’s The Case For Supplements to Feel Younger Now?

Supplementing A Healthy Diet

Today we read and hear about all the different supplements that we should be taking.  There are many different health and fitness magazines and most of them advocate that we should take certain supplements.  In the last 25 years I have studied the supplement industry and I myself and many of my clients have used most of the supplements out there.  Of course everyone should check with their doctor to determine their need for supplements and whether supplements may interfere with any medication they are on.

The Right Classes Are A Plus
